3 Best Food Places in Vagator, Goa with Views to Die For!

Goa’s beaches look beautiful no matter from which angle you choose to view them! For a more relaxing experience there are the numerous beach shacks too. But I have always loved gazing at the ocean and the panaroma around from the little cliffs and hillocks surrounding Anjuna-vagator stretch. Vagator definitely wins our vote when it comes to enjoying the views while indulging in some great cuisine, inspired from various regions of the world. Here are our three gems. If you have more to share, please do and we'll be happy to include them here.

1. Chronicles: This awesome place sits on a small hillock, with a flight of stairs from the beach side leading up to a spacious multi-level sea-view bar cum restaurant. Personally, I feel chronicles offers one of the most breathtaking views around and we just love this place for its chic, casual ambience. The simple decor with plain walls, sandy floor and cane furniture gives a very natural feel to the place. The food is mostly continental and is best enjoyed while watching the gorgeous sunsets! Chronicles also hosts parties and live music sessions that go on late into the night and offer happy hours too in the evenings. This gem of a place stays open only for a few months, generally from late November to April. Chronicles stays open till 2:00 a.m but do enquire about the restaurant timings.

2. Antares: This famous casual dining place at Ozran beach, Vagator is owned and run by  the Master Chef fame Sarah Todd. Antares offers you a taste of Australia right here in Goa with its focus on Australian cuisine with a whi of Asian flavours and a retail fashion outlet selling Australian brands. Set on a small hillock, the place offers amazing views of the sea and you wont feel like leaving the place long after having finished your food! And if you are done admiring the sunsets, you can relax and unwind at their beach club that hosts regular live music sessions. With a selection of amazing cocktails and their dishes made from fresh local produce, it is a spread worth indulging in. Antares also has beach cottages that offer a luxurious stay with views of the sea. The place usually closes during the monsoons so do enquire before you book a table or accommodation there. Antares stays open till 12:00 in the night.

2. Thalassa: As soon as you enter this beautiful greek taverna, the mediterranean vibes envelope you, and the uniqueness of the place just cant be missed. One of the best restaurants of north Goa, Thalassa was the brain child of Mariketty Grana, a restauranteur from Greece, who has made Goa her home. The minimalistic decor with white washed walls and cane furniture adds a refreshing charm to the place, as the gorgeous views from the dining area instantly uplift your spirits. The mediterranean inspired dishes are just perfect to pamper your taste buds and will definitely leave you craving for more. This place also hosts live performances of exotic dances and music sessions that can liven up a simple dinner date with friends or your family. And if you are a shopaholic, you'll be rewarded with a host of designer labels that have set up shop at Thalassa. Thalassa stays open till around 12:00
